It was a great experience to attend NCURA’s 65th Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. earlier this month with several members of the Greenphire team after a four-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At this year’s conference, our Greenphire booth attracted a significant increase in traffic and interest from research colleagues across the globe, as many attendees were eager to learn about our advanced automated payment platform, ClinCard and integrated travel services. We were thrilled to see such a great turnout and to have the opportunity to share our innovative solutions with so many people.
During the conference, several clients came by our booth touting the benefits of ClinCard and offering positive testimonials to others in attendance. These research administrators specifically highlighted the improved workload efficiency and the ease of use for research participants. Hearing such enthusiastic feedback from clients and the impact we have on their staff and participants is always gratifying!
I was surprised, however, by the number of university research administrators who shared with our team that their institution is still paying clinical trial participants by check and gift cards. They expressed their frustration with the time-consuming and manual tracking of payments and 1099 information, indicating their clear need for a more streamlined and automated payment solution to improve research and alleviate burdens.
Greenphire serves as a consultative partner to our 100+ university and academic medical center clients using ClinCard. Conferences such as NCURA provide an opportunity for us to share our experience and insights – not just with clients but with those currently struggling with manual payment processes. We are here to listen, provide guidance, and share supporting resources, such as the following, to help in the journey towards a better tomorrow.
Final Thoughts
After speaking with academic medical centers, specifically NCURA members, it was clear to me that clinical research has grown significantly in recent years. Most institutions and hospitals have now fully implemented their electronic medical record and Clinical Trial Management System platforms. However, there are still a few research sites that are learning about the functionality of ClinCard.
If your institution is currently evaluating platforms to support clinical trial participant payments and engagement, please reach out to us at Greenphire to schedule a demo and discover how the ClinCard solution can benefit your research staff productivity as well as bolster study participant satisfaction and retention.
