At Greenphire, we are passionate about solving problems, thriving in a collaborative environment, and making a real-world impact. Greenphire offers an exceptional environment that fosters growth, innovation, and satisfaction for our engineering team members.

Mornings often begin in our vibrant collaboration space with a La Colombe Coffee Chit Chat—our unique twist on the classic water cooler talk. It’s a space where ideas flow freely, sparking revolutionary concepts that drive our mission to transform clinical trials through innovative software. As a seven-time winner of the Inc Best Places to Work award, we foster an environment that empowers our team to achieve excellence.

“I am coming up on my three-year anniversary of working at Greenphire, and I attribute a lot of my growth as a developer to our supportive culture and the company’s encouragement of continuous learning.” – Heather Mushock, Application Developer

Tools and Teamwork for Innovation

Our hybrid teams are made up of in-person and remote individuals who effectively collaborate across distance and time zones.  The collaborative workspace is designed to facilitate both solo and group problem-solving sessions, with robust tools making it easy for everyone to contribute, no matter where they are. This hybrid setup allows us to push the boundaries of clinical trial software and achieve extraordinary results.

“Greenphire earned a Medtech Breakthrough award for the 5th year in a row this year for best Patient Engagement service.” – Amy Sitnick, Vice President, Marketing

Engaging and Creative Events

Events at Greenphire provide an opportunity to step away from sprint work to solve new problems, grow as engineers by developing new skills and keep compliance and security at the forefront. Each year, our engineers participate in an annual three-day Hackathon, and this year’s theme was focused on harnessing the power of AI to solve problems.

These projects demonstrated how AI can help us innovate faster and with more quality, providing new solutions that can be integrated into our clinical trial software. For instance, some teams developed predictive analytics tools that can forecast patient outcomes, while others created automated data processing systems that significantly reduce manual labor and errors. Winning teams raised their trophies in several categories, including: Most Likely to be Implemented, Developer’s Choice, and Moonshot Award

In the fall, we focus on growing our skills during Developer Days! These are action-packed days where our developers vote on technical topics they want to dive deeper into and discuss as a group in an internal tech conference-type environment. Topics in past Developer Days have included AI-enabled development, cloud architecture, and SaaS observability, featuring a combination of hands-on training sessions, lectures and fun team-building activities.

In the most recent Developer Days, the team picked cybersecurity as a focus. We had our local OWASP chapter representative on-site to educate our engineers on application security risks. Then our engineers dove into Juciebox, a web application loaded with challenges from OWASP Top 10 vulnerability list, primed for exploitation. Over four hours, our teams were challenged to identify and trigger as many vulnerabilities as they could. For Greenphire Engineering, events like these not only foster a sense of community but also allow our engineers to think outside the box and push the boundaries of what’s possible.

A Culture of Collaboration, Growth and Balance

At Greenphire, we foster a spirit of collaboration that spans all departments. On Tuesday afternoons, we experience our ‘As a Team’ culture during our catered lunches, featuring a diverse selection of meals from Chick-fil-A to local restaurants, some owned by our very own Phamily. Once a month, we host a Clinical Trial Talk lunch and learn, showcasing the real-world impact of our software on clinical trials and participants. These events not only nurture a sense of community but also provide invaluable learning opportunities.

At this year’s Rare Disease lunch and learn, we had the privilege of speaking with Becky Vivian, a mother of two children affected by a rare disease called Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD). She shared her experience as an advocate for her children’s lives, their participation in clinical trials for rare diseases, and emphasized the importance of removing the stressors and barriers—financial, logistical, emotional, and more—associated with clinical trial participation.

We believe in balancing hard work with quality time for personal life. We value our colleagues and prioritize a healthy work-life balance, knowing that fulfilled employees create the most innovative solutions. Our commitment to this balance ensures that our employees can wrap up their workday with a sense of accomplishment, ready to enjoy time with loved ones.
