Greenphire Receives EU-US Privacy Shield Certification

Achievement supports company’s commitment to data privacy, security and compliance

King of Prussia, PA – October 27, 2016 – Greenphire, the global leader in clinical payment solutions, announced today that it has been certified by the U.S. Department of Commerce to the new EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. The new framework requires companies to meet stronger obligations to protect the personal data of Europeans, and replaces the EU-U.S. Safe Harbor, with which Greenphire was already compliant.

The EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework replaces the longstanding International Safe Harbor Privacy Principles. The U.S. Department of Commerce and European Commission developed the framework to allow organizations to comply with EU data protection requirements when transferring personal data from the European Union to the United States. Certification requirements include: greater transparency, oversight mechanisms to ensure companies abide by the rules, and tightened conditions for onward transfers.
